MCYD Immediate Past President, Marc Korman, had a letter to the editor published in the
Friday, Jan. 12, 2007  issue of
The Gazette of Business and Politics:

Reality check
Blair Lee's columns continue to stray further and further from reality when it comes to the Maryland
Democratic Party.

In his Jan. 5 column (''2006 award winners"), he says that black Democrats are a ''falling star."

First, he says that Democrats elected an all-white ticket. This is clearly not the case since
the incoming lieutenant governor, Anthony Brown, is an African-American.

Second, how many Republican African-American delegates, state senators or county
executives can Mr. Lee name?

Mr. Lee should then give a call to Ike Leggett and Craig Rice, two new Democratic
African-American officials.

Is there more work to be done? Sure. But Democrats of all colors have much to be proud of.
